An early start to head up to North Wales to pick up a front axles assembly from a Cortina in a car dismantlers yard. In some respects it was easier to remove that I expected, supporting the engine weight didn't prove to be too much of a problem. Getting the bolts out was another matter, they were badly rusted in most cases, and awkward to get at. Other than requiring a thorough clean and a repaint, the components all look to be in good condition.
Need to get the damaged axle out from underneath Kate and compare the two to check that there aren't any differences. Then it's time to start dismantling both, cleaning them up, straightening things out and generally making some real progress. With the axles found, I'm fairly confident that I can get Kate back on here wheels by the end of the month.
