June 17th 2004 - Passing Time

Other than getting the front axle assembly off, it's been a wasted week because of the lack of tools to dismantle the front axle assembly. After much prevaricating have finally ordered a set of spring compressors, ball joint separators, and nut splitters from Frosts.

Pondering on how to cut away the trashed support and ensure that the new support gets welded into place correctly. I suspect that it will be easiest to get the lower tab welded into place, fit the front axle and attach the support to the axle and then weld to the chassis. Will have to source enough spare box section for practice purposes.

Received a reply from MSM insurance, they've passed the forms on to ING the underwriters and recommended a lump sum payment to allow me to carry out my own repairs. Need to keep all of the receipts, work out an estimate and then contact MSM again to find out how I can actually get the money back. They've also passed on the details of the LC Developments and Collin Puttock to the insurers in case they a third party to do an assessment.

Need to order the new wing by next Friday, the 25th, if I am to have a chance of getting it installed to get to Devon at the end of July.
