June 24th 2004 - Progress Begins

Picked up the steel from my fathers yesterday, have 2m of 75x50x3 box section, just over half a metre of 50x25x3 box section, and two 7mm plates 225x70mm.

Started making some inroads into dismantling the front axle assembly ready for swapping in the newer parts and repainting it black and red. Managed to get the hubs and brake discs off of the stub axles, and could get both the upper and lower suspension members off, but can't immediately work out how to get the ball joint between the steering arms and the suspension upright apart. Until I work out how to dismantle ball joints (and the Haines manual isn't much of a help here) I'm somewhat stalled.

Tried calling LC Developments to order various parts from them, but couldn't get through to the relevant person. Will try again Monday morning.

Now that the majority of parts are here, it is time for progress to really begin...
