September 26th 2004 - Bumper Fixings

Initially tried to just straighten out the bumper mountings, but the 5mm strip is too much for the small vice to flatten. Had to cut the old mountings off and assemble fresh ones from scratch. The new strip is also too thick to bend in the vice so two segments had to be welded into place to get the correct shape. Drilled the passengers side ready for assembly.

Assembled up the passenger side damper support complete with bumper mounting and backing plate for the driving lamps. Fitted up the driving lamp and connected up all the wiring but the lamp refuses to light. Need to check with a multi meter that the earth bond is sufficient and that the positive actually has a voltage. The is a possibility that the lamp has blown.

Filled the open end of the drivers side stabiliser support with self expanding foam. This needs 24hrs to cure so the drivers side can't be assembled until tomorrow.
